Surfer Chicks Rockin’ the Surfing Network
Surfing Network in the 808, if you don’t now where that is, how can you call yourself a surfer?! Hey guys, Christy the Hapa Surfer Chick here for the surfing network coming at you from the 808! BTW 808 is Hawaii, the birthplace of surfing. Right now the surfing network is going to take a moment of silence to pay dues to hawaii for giving us the kick ass sport of surfing. Wait for it……Shhhhhhh! Ok! Moving on…..
So this past week has been hectic, but I still made time to get out there and catch some good waves on the south shore of oahu, known to many as waikiki, but more specifically rock piles at Ala Moana. If you don’t know where that is I’m not telling!! It’s no secret really but it’s all locals there, so if you’re not local then stay away! Just kidding, lucky I’m local!! Before I went surfing with all of my hot surfer girl friends they wanted to meet up at tantalus to watch some of the surfing network boys bomb the hill. If you’ve never been up tantalus then just imagine fast and the furious tokyo drift, or what ever the hell that rice burner movie is called!! Anyways this hill is nuts and anyone who skates down is pretty crazy and has to be somewhat of a kook for doing it. Not like an “eh kook get out of the water, you don’t know what you’re doin,’” but the kind of kook who is just simply crazy! And believe me some members of the surfing network crew are flipping crazy! I wasn’t able to get the boys skating down, but here is a sample of tantalus, just so you know how crazy it is.
Anyways…Now that the surfing network boys and girls were revved up, we all headed out towards Ala Moana to catch some crip waves. Before our session, I stopped at Magic Island to catch a quick glimps of the waves. A small, but decent and consistent bump in the surf that day. It was freaking windy, I’m not a fan of windy days, but I guess you just have to make do with what god gives you! Here is a short video of the waves that day. Unknown to me some of my surfer chick friends were already out there. If you know the Surfing Network you know us sufer chicks rule ![]()
